Overview
We have 2 collaboration projects:
1.Extending t-PA treatment for acute Nerve Dysfunction Disease (multiple countries)
This clinical trial is for patients injected stroke medicine within 3-9 hours after the stroke occurs. The medicine injected is called “t-PA”, which is used to test its safety and efficiency when injected later after the stroke occurs.

2.Antihypertensive Treatment of Acute Cerebral Hemorrhage (ATACH)
This is used when patients cannot take the medicine by mouth for hypertension, such as during surgery, suitable for urgent treatment for abnormal high blood pressure and hypertensive emergencies during surgery.

Features
1.EXTEND: could possibly improve due to the use of clinical trial medicine, prevent the risk of permanent brain damage, and reduce the risk of long-term disability due to the stroke. This clinical trial provides more cares from clinical trial professionals, more cares of neurologic function evaluation, increases health education to understand the conditions of the body, improves quality of life, and thus reduces the risk of stroke in the future.

2. ATTACH-II: Lowering intracranial pressure is considered the treatment to reduce brain damage in the early stage of cerebral hemorrhage; however, lowering intracranial pressure is usually accompanied by high mortality and high risk of severe disability. Will the aggressive treatment to lower SBP (keep SBP < 140 mmHg) be more beneficial than the standard treatment to lower SBP (keep SBP < 180 mmHg)
Collaboration Options
1. EXTEND: This trial will recruit 400 subjects with 13 hospitals participating in Taiwan, including CMUH. The executing hospitals in Taiwan include National Taiwan University Hospital, Tri-Service General Hospital, Taipei Veterans General Hospital, China Medical University Hospital, Changhua Christian Hospital, National Cheng Kung Univeristy Hospital, Shuang Ho Hospital, Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital, Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital, En Chu Kong Hospital, China Medical University Beigang Hospital, Taipei Municipal Wanfang Hospital, and Taipei Medical University Hospital, planning to recruit 100 subjects, 10-20 subjects per hospital.

2. ATTACH-II: 1,280 subjects will participate in this clinical trial at different hospitals around the world in the following 5 years. About 10 hospitals in Taiwan will participate in this clinical trial with about 150 subjects (15 subjects per hospital). The duration of the trial is 3 months (90 days).
