Overview
Our institute can provide medical and research collaboration for children with enterovirus infection, including

1. Trainings for pediatric practice sites to include physicians and care team members. Attendees learn about the critical care for children with severe Enterovirus infection, including early recognition of severe EV infection, clinical decision making, nursing care, medical care and ECMO support etc.

2. Trainings for families on how to partner with their child's physician to ensure high quality care.

3. Basic or clinical mdical research collaboration for children with enterovirus infection.
Features
We concluded that children with EV71-related cardiopulmonary failure who received ECMO had a higher survival rate and fewer neurological sequelae than those who only received conventional medical treatments. Besides, no severe EV71 infection related mortality occurred in our institute since 2006. To do this achievement, in addition to a good public health education for prevention of enterovirus infection advocated by the Department of Health, the excellent multidisciplinary medical team of TCVGH to care severe EV71 infection served an important promoter.
