Risk Assessment for Immediate Implant in the Posterior Mandible and Maxillary Esthetic Zone

Issues regarding immediate implantation techniques and protocol to avoid injury to vital anatomical structures: 1.Clinical trial; 2.Technique Training; 3.R

Request for Collaboration
Overview
  1. Immediate dental implant placement has been considered as a “technique-sensitive” procedure.
  2. We had established a protocol regarding the anatomic findings in posterior mandible area, maxillary esthetic zone and other important regions in the oral cavity, the anatomic structures at implant recipient sites should be carefully evaluated prior to implant placement. Moreover, a comprehensive and detailed treatment plan is required to help prevent surgical complications and implant failures.
Features
  1. Immediate dental implant placement has been shown to be a successful treatment procedure; however, it is still technically challenging and can be considered as a “technique-sensitive” procedure.
  2. Clinician should always be aware that certain untoward risks and complications have been reported, such as immediate implant placement beyond the alveolar housing may result in perforation of the lingual cortex, damaging vital anatomical structures and causing neurovascular injuries.
