In order to meet customer preventive health care requirements, the hospital established the health check-up ward in 1990. The initial plan was based on a two-day health check-up. Later, to expand the service to more people, and to provide a more comfortable environment, the original location on the first floor was renovated in 2005, and moved to its present site in July, 2005. After the renovation, it was able to provide more complete services, including customer consultation prior to the physical examination, examination of a corporation's personnel, and other customized services. Furthermore, we arrange for any necessary referrals, track the health check-up report, and suggest health seminars and other activities to promote overall health.
The Health Examination Center is under the direction of the attending cardiologist Ma Guang Yuan in October, 2006. The staff includes the Departments of Internal Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Dentistry, Radiology, and other general practitioners. Environment and Equipment-Customers undergoing a health check-up can feel at home with little tension and anxiety. Our center strives to provide a warm andcomfortable environment. The lobby and waiting areas have comfy furniture, including sofas, dining tables and chairs. The rooms also have a TV, books, newspapers, computers, and sports equipment for the patient's family. In addition, there are a total of seven exclusive single-patient suites that contain a bathroom, television, telephone and so on. Our center is equipped with three physical examination rooms, two endoscopy rooms, a post-anesthesia care unit, a heart electroretinogram room, and a pulmonary function room. The center also contains ophthalmology, dentistry, ENT, and obstetricsgynecology specialist clinics. The radiology department features an exclusive patient waiting area and patient medical examination room. These allow our valued patients to feel comfortable and to maintain privacy.
In addition to providing services to the general public at their own expense, our customers include many well-known corporate staff, executives, and overseas Chinese returning to Taiwan. To further cross-industry alliances and develop different services, the center approaches various companies and government agencies, promotes health check-ups to businesses, gives lectures, and engages in other activities. Customers of different ages and needs are provided with customized health check-ups. Health examination follow-up services include: patient health management services, post-health check-up consultation, tracking abnormal results, referral to other specialists for further examination and other services, health reports for companies, and health consultations with companies.
