A cross-cultural nursing practicum programA cross-culture nursing practicum is applied by experienced nurse preceptors to demonostrate, illustrate and instruct nursing students to achieve their learning objectives. Through the live application of nursing knowledge and skills in the clinical and daily nursing works, students learn the cultural difference in views of health and disease, the nursing practice in healthcare systems and hospital-based healthcare service. The practicum specialities cover acute care, emergency care, hospice and palliative care and community health. The traditional Chinese medicine visting is arranged to experience acupuncture, cupping and guasha. During the practicum period, cultural events and traditional festivals are introduced by sight seeing tours, street foods and Chi Mei Museum visiting at the leisure time.
