Overview
Patients undergoes the procedure consciously wihout general anesthesia. Local anesthesia is administered at the right groin. After venous and arterial accesses are obtained, a plastic catheter is advanced into the heart. Transthoracic echocargiography is used to guide the procedure. An appropriate device made of nitinol wire mesh is used to close the ventricularseptal defect. The patient is askied to lie down for 6 hours after the procedure and ususally can be discharge on the following day.

We have performed more than 300 procedures with the average procedure time of 60 minutes. There are no mortality, stroke, infection, device embolization or other major complications.
Service Procedure
1.Before the procedure: The patient needs receive the exam of chest X-ray, eletrocardiography, echocardiography, basic blood test and intravenous infusion.

2.During the procedure: The patient is sent to catheterization room for the procedure only under conscious sedation.

3.After the procedure: The patient needs lie down for 6 hours. Follow-up chest X-ray, eletrocardiography, echocardiography is done on the following day.
Notification
The procedure risk is rare including complete heart block 1%. The patient is asked to avoid strenuous exercise for one month after the procedure.
